Title: Early, VERY early, IPMS mags for a good home
Post by: PR19_Kit on April 27, 2009, 04:57:22 AM
In my 'Monster Sort Out' post retiring I've got quite a few REALLY old IPMS Mags that I don't really want any more. They are the small size ones, B5 format I think, and range from 1967 to 1974, but almost none of them are a complete year, some years have only one issue.

They're really only any good for nostalgic purposes or for some of the RW articles, the kit reviews and conversions have been WELL overtaken by time of course.

If anyone's interested I'd be happy to bring them to the SIG Meet at Coventry or to Hendon foc, otherwise they'll be heading for the skip.

Hi Kit,
I`d be interested but I don`t get to many shows. Altho you mention Hendon. If thats the London Hendon I might be able to meet there or any idea how much postage would be?

Gary,

Yes it is the London Hendon, in the RAF Museum to be precise, on May 31st, the Barnet Show.

Dunno what the postage would be as yet, I hadn't actually considered it, but I'll see if I can get the PO to come with a figure.

Hi Kit,
Yep meeting at the RAFMus is a possibility and I`ve got a month to organise transport. But look in to postage if you would and how many mags  are there?
Thanks Gary

Gary,

46, they make up a pile about 2.5" high.

The queue at the local PO was out the door today and I couldn't hang around, but I'll find out the potential postage soon.

Gary,

Indeed yes, I clean forgot about getting the postage charges anyway, very, very sorry.

I'll have the mags with me for sure.

Hi Kit,
Could you let me know how you`d like to meet on Sunday, or should I just be under the clock at twelve wearing a RLM 23 carnation and reading a copy of Aviation News?  ;D
Cheers
Gary

Gary,

While your idea would go further to confirm Mrs PR19's thoughts that I've been working for MI6 for the past 30 years, I don't think we need to go QUITE that far to hide our identities.  ;D

A) I'll be on the Whiff SIG stand for much of the day.

B) I'll usually be wearing an Indiana Jones style hat (thus my avatar here)

C) The mags will be in my box of stuff on the stand even if I'm not, and I'll make sure everyone knows they are for you

D) I'll be wearing a badge that says 'Kit Spackman' and 'PR19_Kit'

E) If all else fails call my mobile 07785 256686

One of those just HAS to work!

hIYA kIT,
Your probly still at Hendon while I`m enjoying a cuppa at home but Thanks Much for the mags. Their already installed in the downstairs Smoking cum Music Room for perusal at my leisure. Sorry I missed you but I did get to meet Lancer, Kitbasher and .................terrible memory for names, but ok on species though, so easy to spot a Whiffersaurus from a distance and the bag of Twiglets was a dead giveaway.

ps Sorry I couldn`t hang around to meet you and chat to the others but my Son (Taxi) had to get to another place before they closed. Thanks once again.

Gary,

Magic, glad you have them at last.  ;D

The Crew told me you'd been and collected them while I was off on a fruitless attempt to gain access to the Sunderland in the BoB Hall. The signs said the inside of the aircraft was closed, intimating that the outside wasn't, but it was ALL closed. I suggested that changing the notice might be a good idea but they didn't seem to understand.

Weird people..........
