CVA-01 would have launched her easily......... :)

And what's the significance of the date? Hopefully they went west and sunk that carrier of the same name in revenge for the Coventry and the Atlantic Conveyor......

(Me a tad bitter about that day? Yes......... :( )

may 25 1984 was the date that 25de mayo tried to launch a sky-hawk attack on the British fleet but the weather was to bad to launch the strike in her area but the fleet was found by a nimrod but was to far for a strike by the harriers or any of the ship to ship systems in use by the uk fleet at the time and also there was no UK sub in the area so all the nimrod could do was watch as the small fleet returned to port :banghead: but what if...........
the UK had these on a large fleet carrier and there was along with the fleet a small number of the pre production sea eagles ( there was twelve with the fleet onbord the invincable) which had their telemetry equipment removed and warheads fitted although they still had test markeings on them and the warning band had to be hand painted along with the undersides of the sea eagles wich when they left the uk still had white undersides although sometimes not very well or even all the required pannels if parts were removed for maintance.

I believe these Sea-Eagle-toting-Sea-Eagles would have found old '25 comfortably sleeping anywhere in the South Atlantic. Excellent whif, Lenny.
