I am looking for info on the proposed recce pack for the TSR2. I want to build my Airfix 1/72 kit as a recce bird, so I need enough detailed info to scratch build it.
TIA
LArry
Well, I am still looking for info (drawings, etc) on the TSR2 recce pack. That way I can scratch build one in 1/72 for my kit.
It seems the MSN Group for the TSR2 is no longer around.
I would even accept a scan of the old SAM Publications resin conversion part(s), next to a ruler for verifying the size.
Cheers,
Larry

Trust Robert to come up with the goods.
I realise that this topic has been rather "quiet" for a while, but does anyone currently produce a 1/72 recce pack?
I ask as I would like to get one to use on one of my Airfix kits.

That SAM 1/72 recce pack is a pretty poor effort and totally fails to capture the curves of the real thing.

true enough, but for those who don't think they are up to scratch building one, its better than nothing :) You can still get it, the casting is now done by the Aviation workshop.
They had Paul scale it up to 48th scale martin, the 72nd one was SAMI and now OOP.

Do you have a pic or two on what it was supposed to look like Damien ? Can the one I have be modified to be more representative ?
I am hoping that the drawings in SAM's Lost Tomorrows of an Eagle are close enough to what was planned as I think I better try scratch building seeing there is not a 1/72 version available right now. Also means I will not have it ready for Telford, this year anyway :banghead:

Page 222 of my book has a 3-view ;D
John Forbat's book has a photo of a mockup pack.
Looking again the 1/72 resin one is so far off the shape of the real thing it's not even much use as a basis to carve it into shape - you may as well scratch build it.

They're pretty close - except the forward end, where the curved bulge is brought to too much of a point.

Looks as if there is no point at the front, it just slopes towards the underside of the fuselage.

Patience dear boy
Damien,
I am attempting to build the model by the end of this year with very little spare money to buy a new book.
