Title: Real World Corvette (the wheeled type)
Post by: Scooterman on July 06, 2008, 08:01:01 PM
Worked on this all day today.  Matchbox 1/18 ZO6.  A friend owns the real one so I did this up to match.
It was already painted, but I added the stripes, painted the rims black and added a few small details.  You can see in the first pic the stock kit with the new one.

My reward was he let me borrow the real one for a few hours.  What a BLAST to drive!  It's more starship than Chevy.

That's some very sharp work, Scooterman! The finish looks flawless, which I would imagine is the most difficult part of the project. Car modelers always get my respect for their paintwork!

Nice job.  It's always fun to borrow someone else's Corvette.  I had the pleasure of flogging my old boss' 1974 (?) 'vette.  It had the 454 and manual gearbox.  Not as fast as that Z06, but still a hoot.
