Well I started at 10-00 BST Saturday and here's the first kit I'm working on - Czechmaster Spitfire 22/24
In reserve we have a Xtrakit Spitfire XII
After about 3 hours on/off modelling yesterday we have 2 fusalages, 2 cockpit "tubs" and 2 prop/spinner assemblies done + the interior and small bits painted
Wow, that's a really quick start, and one of them in resin, no less?!
Beautiful Spitfire versions your going to build there! Always dreamed of being able to afford the Czechmaster and Xtrakit late model spits...
Any hints as to what markings we might be seeing Chris?
One will be SEAC (there's a suprise ) the other will remain a secret
Well the sites being doing the "Hoky-Coky" with me again - wouldn't even let me in my own post :banghead:
Construction was finished tuesday. The way the Mk XII has been tooled caused a couple of problems and I'll construct my next one a little differently - lesson learned.
PSR and priming was done yesterday, painting commences today
Mmmm, Spitfires, One can never see enough. Looking forward on seeing these beauties finished.
Right finished.
First up is Spitfire F.22 of 17 Squadron as flown by Squadron Leader LH "Ginger" Lacey based at Hanoi in March 1946.
Czechmaster Kit finished with Xtracrylic and markings courtesy of the Fujimi Spit XVIe kit and the Czechmaster boxing
It's a nice kit. This is the early boxing without all the etched and masks that have been added to the more recent boxings.
17 Sqd for some reason seemed to use wider ID stripes then the norm
Second up is Spitfire Mk XII "Skipper" of the 309th Fighter Squadron based at Pomigliano near Naples in Dec 1943. Flown by Captain Henry Barr
Nice one, Narses! You've proven that few things tart up a Spit better than the SEA scheme!

It's the Xtrakit kit again finished with Xtracrylic with markings provided by the AeroMaster "American Spitfires" sheet.
A nice kit although I will build it differently next time as following the instruction sequence causes a few fit problems
The real "Skipper" was a Spitfire IX
Looks dead sexy in the desert scheme with 1943 style U.S. markings, Narses!
