Title: Amodel Bounder
Post by: Maverick on May 29, 2007, 12:17:07 AM
Just saw this over on Cybermodeller

http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/amo...odel_m-50.shtml (http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/amo/kit_amodel_m-50.shtml)

Ok, it's one of Amodel's 'multi-media' (ie freaking expensive fibreglass) kits, but damn, that's one super-sweet bird.

Even more intriguing was a smaller pic with a VM-T carrying a Buran?  I know we'll talk refinancing the house here, but dang, that's gotta be a uber kit if i've seen one!

Yep, one of the modified carrier aircraft with a twin tail could carry a finless and engineless Buran , I have a couple of pictures of it doing that and carrying some assorted Energya components.

I would sell my soul for a 1/72 scale Buran. Would be nice if A-Model are releasing that combo if they would do a full up Buran as well.
Schweeeet!!

Don't forget Anigrand doing on in 1/144 if Fibre-glass/price puts you off the Amonster one.

Nice one....the Bounder is one sexy aeroplane. A little too pricey for me, tho.

I'm just drooling! I'm glad to see that some model-makers such as Trumpeter
or  A-model (among others) propose rare or huge aircrafts in 1/72 scale. That's really a good news!!!

There would be many, many interesting to make with this kit!!
The M-50 was so sexy.
And this VMT / Buran combo is rather exiting, too!!    (maybe one could re-build a full Buran shuttle from the model on the box ;) )

The Bounder and Tsybin's NM-1 are my two all time favorite Soviet aircraft.   The Su-100/Tu-4  XB-70 "copy" is a close third.

And a Bounder kit is something I never thought would happen.

Seems if Amodel do it then Trumpeter do it later.

Fingers crossed.

Hey guys,

As a dealer for AModel, for the Bounder you are looking in the neighborhood of $170-$180 CDN

Just thought you would like to know.

Thanks Viper, my local guy here Roy at Southern Skies Models is looking into the VM-T + Buran for me but it is good to hear some definite numbers on the prices of the models.

Do you know whether AModel is looking at doing a standalone complete Buran orbiter at a later date? That would be cool along with the Buran Analogue jet powered test article....but now I am being greedy...;)

Cheers

The next 3 kits (big kits) to be released by AModel is a Tu-126, V-12(whatever that is), and am A-50 Soviet Radio Supervision Aircraft. No pictures as of yet, as it seems that AModel doesn't have a website of their own, at least not that I have found.

I buy all my stuff through Hobby Terra in the Ukraine, and he usually has the new kits within a month of their release.

Although I like the 1/72 Soviet Bombers, I have my eye on the 1/72 IL-76 AWACS....thing that would be a cool build!!

QuoteV-12(whatever that is)
The V-12 is the Mil Mi-12 Megacopter.  Two Mi-6 dog houses and rotor systems married to a C-5 sized fuselage.  Very impressive beast.

(https://www.whatifmodellers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aviationtrivia.homestead.com%2Ffiles%2FMi_12.jpg&hash=2079f4c49c24c511a6c01504136f2685c2de02df)

I have the Il-18V kit, and I can tell you that with the big kits, even the new improved ones, you really have to watch the alignment.  The wings on the Il-18 (shared with the Il-38 May kit) have unequal dihedral molded in.  It's going to be a bit of a chore to fix.  On both the Il-18 and Il-38 kits the opening for the cockpit glass is out of whack by about 5 degrees (ie: the glass gets rotated if you install it as-is).  There are lots of little things like that to watch, but then again, there are no other kits of most of these subjects.

The Il-76 and the A-50 Mainstay will share the same problem - the landing gear sits up far too tall, particularly the nose gear.  The real Il-76 squats on the ramp (loaded or unloaded), but the kit stands up on tall legs.

That I am not sure, it just shows it as coming soon, with no price.

AModel doesn't seem to have a website of their own, at least not one I can find.

If anyone has a link to it, or finds a link to their home page, I would be much appreciated if you shared it with me.

Thanks
Scott

Next time I'm in your car I'll navigate - it's in Sufolk  :P

And you know my views - if you want it enough then you will pay for it. Never forget when "they" buy these things "they" are taking a risk. No idea how long it will stay in stock - just check out the current "Specials" to see what I mean. Without certain people in the Trade the rest of us would never have had the opportunity to hear about let alone buy some of this stuff - I'll get off my soap box now  :(

That's simply fabulous...  :o  A Mi-12 Homer (wasn't this thing nicknamed Homer by NATO ?   ) in 1/72 scale...

guys, If I had not registred to this forum 18 months I would never knew that such aircrafts existed in 1/72 scale. You're a bunch of well-informed guys you know
