Apparently, it's 1:10 scale, but seeing as I don't read Russian...

Now imagine that beast (real ship, not the model) getting the "Iowa treatment" in '80s:

Still, darn fine model.

That's the model at the Yamato museum in Kure. http://yamato.kure-city.jp/english/e-index.html (http://yamato.kure-city.jp/english/e-index.html)
Where'd you find that 1980s Yamato??? Very cool!

Wow, is that ever a nice model ! Must've taken years to build that thing. Superb detail, and I had no idea it had that many guns !
Kinda sad when you look at all the engineering and work that went into a real battleship, with the sole purpose to go out and get blown to smithereens !
That is seriously a beautiful work of art.
Honestly, whatever your views on WWII combatants, you must admit that the YAMATO-class battleship was more aesthetically pleasing than the IOWA-class. Okay, that is my own mental imbalance. B)

You could have also gotten it here.

My only nitpick is the ASROC - not much use on a ship without sonar. Other than that it's a fine job of an upgrade.
JoeP, incorrigible shippie
My favorite whiff Yamato is a TBO-verse Yamato, firing 18-inch nuclear shells...
Ka-boom.
