All the way to the end of March and I've only completed 1 model. What a pisser. Anyway, here is that one, a total what-if: The XP-67 Moonbat was entered into the 1948 Cleveland air races but problems with the Continental engines kept the plane out of the race. It was eventually sold and became a firebomber escort aircraft, flying fire attack missions ahead of the real firebombers, to let them know the best way to attack the fire...

Collectaire kit, 48th scale. I inherited this kit as a half built project. With the amount of filler on the beastie, had I started it from beginning, I would probably have given up on it as the modeler I got it from.
Terry
Metal colour

Beautiful subject and a TOP NOTCH execution.

I love the color scheme That is one Beautiful bird    It's a shame they never were able to overcome the engine problems that plauged the design and finally doomed it
That is a work of art - great job!
From a whiff POV - I wonder how a turbo-prop conversion would go?
Regards,
Greg
Terry, beautiful work! Absolutely love the paint scheme.

Greg, that is a great idea. It looks like the nacelles wouldn't need to be modified very much. Maybe in French markings over Dien Bien Phu?

Awesome looking bird.
Gorgeous, braincells!!! That metal finish with red wingtips and tail really set this beauty off nicely! It's a real treat to see this bird wearing something besides the old OD over gray.
Bravo Zulu!!!
