Title: A big bird in raspberry ripple colors...
Post by: Archibald on October 25, 2006, 12:02:45 PM
Well I totally fell in love with the raspberry ripple paint sheme after seeing F-104, F-105, Grippens  TSR-2 and others model on this colors.
Two hours ago I was reading Kitnut post in alternative history (thread on the B-58...) but my computer stubbornly refused to open the link to the whatif and odd ball model page  .
So  I directly went to the site and watched Kitnut concorde bomber building... and a daring idea come to my mind...

A BOMBCORD IN RASPBERRY RIPPLE!!!!!

I imediately started work on my (crap) Bombcord (the modifications to the plane were not too bad, but the piant sheme was awful!!!)... it has now red tail, red wingtips... well, I'll have to spread  white paint on a gigantic surface, but if it works, that could give a fantastic looking plane!!! I also changed the canards for (shortened) F-16 wings...

I plan to open a thread on the "workbench" section...

I would recommend you use a can of acrylic spray paint for the white - over here we use a brand called Halfords (automotive supply chain store).  Excellent stuff.  Maybe you can nip down the chunnel  ;)

QuoteMaybe you can nip down the chunnel
sorry, this sentence exceed my current level of english...
Thanks for the tip, I understand that the "ordinary" way of painting is not adapted for such a big surface...

to "nip down" somewhere is to make a short, quick journey, eg "Could you nip down the shops and get me a loaf of bread please"

The Chunnel is the Channel Tunnel.

well I managed to paint the beast with my tiny humbrol paint pot and my brush... not too difficult, but I totally exhausted the pot!  The result is not too bad (even if the digital camera tend to mask the defaults!) but need refinement

You should really wait until after you're finished painting to do that :)  I've heard it increases creativity, but really, this is a family board!
