Title: VOTE FOR THE WINNER
Post by: Leigh on June 19, 2006, 04:51:01 PM
AMAZING truly bloody amazing, what a turnout, you guys are the best thankyou. I count 52 entries!!!  Agreed 49 of them were made by Anthony and Brian

And what amazing quality and ideas we saw this truly has been the best build I've seen here so far.
My apologies and I feel a bit sheepish for not getting mine done on time, but computer problems and other real life stuff (some of it fun) just ate up my time recently.

Anyways take a butchers at this lot Entries (http://www.whatifmodelers.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=10580) and PM me with your votes.

I need a first, second and third place from each of you and each model will get
10 points for first
5  points  for second
3 points for third.

I'll tally the votes up and one with the most points wins.

Vote between now and Friday 30 th of June and I'll announce the winner July 1st.

Again guys thank you.

I have sent you a PM, Leigh.
So many marvels  , choosing 3 is not easy, it's like insulting the other entries... :(

My votes have been cast! Leigh, I want to thank you for taking on the job of moderating this wildly popular GB! It's been an absolute blast!

Vote has been placed, took me one heck of a long time to narrow it down.

Thanks to all who contributed, even those who didn't finish had seriously cool stuff, and to Leigh for being crazy enough volunteer to run this Group Build.

Overall a very fun experience :)

Also like to see all of the not quite finished builds when they get finished too!

Good luck to all...you have earned it!

What part of PM me don't you understand ?

:P

But while we're on the subject, I might as well give my who/what/why

1-Cyclone. Just too fecking cool. I've always liked the Gripen, but to see one like that was just too much !

2-The Fishy Russian Lightning. Now that thing just looked right. Awesome !

3-Shrike. Kinda like a red white and blues Stuka. Another plane that just looks right. And hey...it's got spats !

My honourable mentions go to

-Me-109L. Very nice. Love the long legs on her !
-Saudi and Kuwaiti Typhoons
-SkyVan Van !

PM inbound.

The first place was pretty obvious in my opinion but I really struggled for the other pics as there are some great ideas and great models executed here.

Congrats to all those who finished their projects.

Forgot to mention ANY registered member on this site can vote , you don't need to have been a participant, although by voting that effectively makes you a participant.

And my Votes go to
1. Nev's Lightning
2. Eddie's B-17/KC 135
3. Gary's F.A.A.  F-4D Skyray

Yeah I know I can't vote and they're not even in this build but they're really cool models.

My GOD!!!!!

Can anyone here say "difficult to pick 3"? I agree with Tophe - my apologies to the other 49 entries!!!!

I'd like to wish all of my fellow participants the very best of luck, and thanks to anyone who has / will be voting for any of my entries. I'm not worthy.

Thanks again Leigh for running this, like Brian said it was a blast! Three cheers for Leigh!

Looks like I'm the only one with the easy choice (removing mine from my own consideration)  :P

But then again, it wasn't so easy.  I submit three honorable mentions along with my three votes!

Fun build!  Definately a fun build!  And had I known I could have thrown my old Airfix builds at it, my total would have been a bit more

T'was fun, tovarishes!  We must do something like this again (the dead parrot build is too expensive for me)!  Matchbox build?  Revell build?  Hasegawa build?  No, I got it:  Monogram build

And three cheers for Leigh!!

I did not realize: if not prize winning, the ones who got votes will not be informed they have, so I should post here what I sent to Leigh...
Quote1- (very favourite) The Wooksta's Bf109L-2
2- Brian's MeK 5109
3- Anthony's Philippino F-16
(and if there were more votes, I would have added BlackOps' V-Tail Banshee, Mike Wren Shorts-Ford Transitvan...)
Thanks dear.

Oy, that was hard

I whittled my choices down to Anthony's Mikoyan-Blackburn Thunder F.3, F-32's F-105K, and Mark's F-2N Triton and even then the order of first-second-third ended up getting picked at random

A little more than a day left and still alot of you have not voted. I gave it a 10 day period because I knew some people were away last week.
This has turned out to be a tight horse race with quite a few models all switching positions everytime someone votes.

DO YOUR CIVIC DUTY AND VOTE!!!!!!!!!

(and Todd voting for yourself three times doesn't count  )
