The prop shafts from a 700 scale Dragon HMS Invincible are a pretty close match to a 144 scale RAF AWACS type refueling probe ! I have two birds and one boat. Perfect !

Well that's VERY handy.

Very interesting. I tend to build my ships as waterline leaving many unloved keels, shafts and screws laying in their boxes.

excellent idea, especially if you build both small scale ships and aircraft
It could turn in to a lucrative business for someone with a 3D printer too, copying the prop shafts and selling them on as IFR probes for militarised transport aircraft.
