The funeral on Thursday went ok, my faience managed to mostly keep it together as it was her father we laid to rest. Friday her brother almost kicked her out of the house telling her to come over and see me and not to be back until Monday as she needed the rest and change of scenery. She has gone home today as she has lots of phone calls to make over the next few days and feels better at starting those from home.
Saturday afternoon I find out that my dad had to go into hospital!

Apparently least week when he had a fall, or maybe some time earlier, he cracked a bone near the top of his left leg, he was also due to go into hospital for a scan to see how he was doing after a mini stroke towards the end of last year. The scan found that he had had some bleeding on the brain so he got transferred into Edinburgh where a specialist unit is for nuro surgerywhich was successfully carried out today. This has meant that my mum has had a little rest although she has to plan her meals as everything is in multiples of two which makes a mess of planning meals

I'm nor fully recovered from having had Covid so I have been signed off sick for another couple of weeks which works out ok as my car is still in the garage as they needed more time to dry out the carpet before putting it back into the car, I'm sure a saw a gnome with a fishing rod in the back of my car last week, that's how wet the interior had gotten

and my new glasses are not ready so I can't drive the car anyway

Of course I have had to get the contact lenses I was given so I could borrow my mum's car so I could go to the funeral taken out so I am not legal to drive my car even when it is ready to bring home

great

The good side of that is I am really looking forward to getting my new glasses as the improvement to my vision just using the contacts was fantastic! So my faience has agreed to drive my car back to my place once it's ready which could be a day or so before I get my glasses.
Of course the high point of this last week has been having my faience visit for a couple of days, even if when we have gone shopping we have felt like a couple in their eighties with a lack of energy and breathlessness to match but other than that it's been great to see her.
