Cor, that's SOMETHING ELSE!

As Womby says, that NMF is brilliant, do please tell us your technique for that.

And the red colour flashes are so VERY 50s.  ;D

Oh, very nice!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thank you all, appreciate it!

Kit I mostly used hardware store Rustoleum rattle spray paint cans.  Gray automotive primer first.

Gray primer on, then sanded with 1500 grit. let dry.

Rustoleum Aluminum 7715 is the majority of the airframe. 3 coats very light.

Rustoleum gloss white, gloss sunrise red, flat black and stainless steel.  LOTS of masking with hardware store blue painters tape.

The overwing wheel fairings, the flaperons, a few panels and aft half of the nacelles were airbrushed with Testors flat steel.

1/72 Harrier for scale

can see the contrast between the flat steel (flaperons, below the tail, aft nacelles, and overwing fairings) and the aluminum.

Yes those 1950's colors on the XB-58 and YB-58's were spectacular!

This looks so cool. And I never expected that the twin pods would change the look THAT much. I know sketches of the original proposal, but the model shows how different this layout actually is. Very well done, respect!

I was expecting a list of umpteen airbrush shades for that NMF finish, and I'm amazed it came out THAT well using spray cans for much of it.

There's hope for us mere mortals yet.  ;D ;D

I have become a huge believer in hardware store rattle cans for silver, aluminum- spelled correctly  ;) and other natural metals.  Airbrushing is great, but I spend more time mixing, fussing and cleaning the airbrush than I do painting!

Also fairly inexpensive and has a long shelf life.  I do tilt the cans upside down until it sprays clear when finishing- that seems to reduce clogs.

Fabulous.  Even if you can't spell.

Looks much better than the "real" one.  I have always thought the inner engines looked awkward where Convair ended up putting them.
