While idling my time away here under self-isolation I thought I'd try a 'tape-up build' of the Kopra F+W C-3605 that I bought recently, if only to see if it really DID need a tail weight. It would be a tad late to find out after it was glued together of course..... :(

I hadn't actually taken the bits out of their odd, paper thin 'plastic' bags before, but having cut them out I found to my amazement that there isn't a single type of tape that I have that will stick the Kopra resin together!  :o

It just falls off, and that even goes for duct tape!  :o :o

Maybe I need to to do the usual 'Wash and air dry' process that resin needs before trying it again, but I've never come across this sort of resin before.

Yes, that was #2 or #3. I'll give it all a good wash later on and try again.

Ah right. I must admit I find Kopra are a bit different from the rest of the Limited edition companies. It's not just the resin they use, but their after market accessories tend to just include the bare minimum and tend to be a bit on the pricey side when you compare them to other companies. May just be me, but I'm not sure you get great value for money with them ?

Certainly that C-3605 was VERY expensive, but it was the only game in town. The kit seems reasonably well detailed, very much so in the cockpit too.

Hope it builds as well as it looks, if you can find a glue to stick it together with ?  ;)

Coming soon  fleet air arm rotodyne, and probably  after I have  finished  that and the 2 other RAF  aircraft  I  want to do  an RAF  spey engined Mirage IV.  It will carry 2 missiles on the wing pylons, that can have a duel  purpose.  Standoff  high speed air launched  nuclear missile, and guided  heavy  conventional  air to ground  missile. I have already built  missiles.

Was there dust on the parts? Iím sure you would have noticed that. Anyway, the was and dry would cure that. The Alpine Anteater looks like fun!

No, the resin just felt odd, unlike any other resin models I've built. I'll give the thing a good soak in some solvent cleaner before I try again, but I expect that'll be some months away yet.

If it's an unusual type of resin, maybe check the usual solvents aren't going to dissolve the parts...
I have heard of that happening and it'd be a shame, not to mention frustrating.

Possibly worrying about nothing, but I felt it needed to be said.

I have the Airfix 1/72 Golden Hind in the stash,  I'm not too sure if all the parts are there,  so another kit of the same would be great. Ships and boats are something that I want to build this year. Maybe even a submarine that can launch an aircraft or helicopter. Submarine helicopter rescue vessel

Near Future, as in Right Now:

Having (somewhat) tidied up my modelling room, I've started on a HobbyBoss LandRover Defender 110 Hardtop.

This will be the Mobile Field Command & Control Vehicle for the RQ-19A diorama.

I also have these kits sitting under the table ready for the start of the "Blue Lights" GB

... Which, from memory, I'm moderating.
