Saw this one in Corsica back in 2005.
Saw it on the ground, flying, and dropping water/retardent on fires.

Years back we were stuck in the hole with our tools ( differntially stuck, where the wellbore is 'drinking' and sucks our logging tools into the formation and we don't have enough strength in our weak point to pull it free w/o pulling out of the head and leaving our tools downhole. Big no-no with nuclear sources ) so we had to hang around and babysit while the overshot was delivered. Any road, whilst standing there in this field, this giant bug appears and comes barreling right over ! Certainly did look like a big mechanical praying mantis, nose down and hungry ! So loud and so cool. Long before the days of the cell phone camera.

I built the Revell kit of the Skycrane many years ago, but in pale blue with a Mogul Oil container underneath.  ;D

Some of us in the UK will know the significance of that.....  ;)

I wrote to the Beeb and asked if they could send me some Mogul details, and I got a reply on Mogul notepaper! Together with a load of badges and stuff, some of which I still have. The others are on the Skycrane.  ;D

I once saw a Skycrane about 5 years ago in Perth, downunder.  It was a large chopper and it sounded almost jet like as it flew over my house.  Most impressive. :thumbsup:

Just had the Red Arrows over the house performing "Arrows Arrival" here at Prestwick.
They are scheduled to do flypasts at Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and London today.
Needless to say I did not have my camera to hand.  :banghead:
