Fake Tanks: Models at The Tank Museum

That was fascinating. It does worry me a little to hear of plastic kits turning 'into a sticky goo at the bottom of the box'.

BTW, did you mean for the video to start near the end?

I haven't watched the video yet so apologies if this is covered but sticky goo could be caused by vinyl tracks.  Vinyl tyres on model cars and motorcycles can leach plasticisers which can eat styrene and dissolve paint.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

He didn't clarify that but it was my first thought too. In other cases it sounds like the plastic itself is biodegrading and warping as the various chemicals break up under age.

How old were the kits he was talking about? I've still got some original FROG and Airfix stuff that must be at least 60 years old now and they're still OK.
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
