I recognised the Beverley from the dropmaster's view on the inside.  ;D

But I've never seen PINK parachutes before, maybe they were easier to spot over the jungle green?
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I suspect the parachutes were an experimental batch.  I was rather impressed by the Avro Tudor's accuracy with their airdrops.   :thumbsup:

They were Hastings actually.  ;D

But as you say, there were bang on target. They had a bomb sight thingie mounted on the Captain's side window to ensure they dropped at the correct point. That was one of the things my Dad's mob thought up in TCTDF. (Transport Command Training & Development Flight)

I was surprised that they were using, well just pieces of plywood to tip the bundles out the door.  When I did air-dispatching out of an Andover we kicked them out.  It was my one and only episode at air-dispatching, offered to me as a one-off on Exercise Kangaroo-82.  The plane was owned by the Kiwis but they hadn't brought any air-dispatchers with them and so we diggers got "volunteered".   :banghead:

Very nice ! Thanks for sharing. I could watch that stuff all day. And just like Hollywood, they load a Hastings, then a Valetta takes off, and the Hastings completes the drop  ;D

Later on TCTDF developed a semi-trackway for the Hastings which ran along the floor, and then turned outward by the rear doors. So then the dispatchers could shove the loads ALONG the floor rather than shove them OUT of the door.

Apparently they'd had a couple of occasions where the guys had gone out the door with the loads! They survived as they wore chutes during drops then, but I noticed that the guys in the vid had safety lines attached rather than chutes.
