Many, many pages of high resolution scans of the original camouflage schemes designed by Norman Wilkinson et al in 1917 for a wide range of ship types. There are over 300 images. Click on the images at the left to open a pop-up to see each image in detail; there's a download button for each image on the pop-up. Fascinating stuff. It's all from the US National Archives Catalog (or "Catalogue" as I prefer).

  • Growing older is inevitable, growing up isn't!
Fascinating.   Actually, ANY of Wilkinson's  art is worth looking at.

Ideal reference material for modern warship whiffery.

And possible inspiration for ‘Barclay scheme’ application to jets.  Now, where can I find a cheap F-16 kit?
