Thanks for those pics. Clears it up for me. I need to drill out the gun ports and the gun camera hole. I can do it by hand, super slow. Or with the dremel tool which is so fast it melts the plastic. I wish I had a tool in between. My regular multi speed drill is too big. I just got a Micro Mark catalog so off I go.

She's got legs!! (cue ZZ Top)

And a new seat, and some almost done engines! The landing gear is made up of all kinds of parts from the junk box.
And completed engines are installed with a T tail.

The Areo club metal seat just barely keeps it from being a tail sitter.

I might have to flatten some weights to put under the cockpit floor. I'm also thinking of the extended Sabrinas with the chaff/flare dispensers.

I do have one issue. I have these weapons in the spares box and I don't know if they are useful or not. The rocket pods might be Russian for all I know. I think the bomb with the rectangular fins might be legit. I only have one Hunter gas bag so I robbed a Mitsubushi F-1 kit for larger ones.

What do you guys think?

That's looking pretty darn sharp!
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I have absolutely no idea why, but that looks as though it's screaming out for South African markings to me
Decals my @r$e!

That would be interesting!

That bomb looks like a Cold War British 1000lb GP bomb to me, and the rocket launcher could pass as a generic Matra/SNEB launcher as well.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

I was hoping for these to be usable. I'll strip the paint off the pods. Looks like a couple bombs, the pods, the fuel tanks and a couple Sidewinders should fill the pylons.

I might skip the pods for a couple of Mavericks.

I drilled out the gun troughs and they look much better. I'm still thinking of maybe LGBs on the pylons. :banghead:

I extended the Sabrinas and installed chaff/flare dispensers. I needed more weight in the front end so while I had them off I filled in the hollow parts with bits of lead sliced off a fishing weight. Added some more lead just behind the cockpit so now it sits properly when I add the metal Aeroclub seat. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow so I will try filling in the short shot part of the canopy with UV resin. I hope it works. I used the clear PVA glue before so that's an option.

I'm rebuilding the cockpit right now. The Matchbox one was just an imaginary seat and lots of open space. Nothing too crazy just had to make it a little better with the new seat.

Here's the Aeroclub seat compared to the Matchbox seat.

I've boxed in the cockpit so it at least looks like a cockpit. Plus the metal seat helps keep it from being a tail sitter.
I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon and paint this contraption.  I've bought Tamiya acrylic paints, thinner and cleaner so I'm hoping this all works together properly!

This may be last minute but does anyone have one or two of the small 1/72nd scale drop tanks for a Hawker Hunter? I found one from the Matchbox kit I'm building the Havoc from but the other has disappeared into the depths of time. I've tried replacing it with a matching pair of tanks from another kit but it just doesn't look right. If not it's not a crisis, I'll just hang a weapon on the other pylon.
Also the short shot canopy is being an obstinate sob. If anyone has one is these laying around it would be very helpful. Otherwise I'll think of something.

I have the Revell ones sort of at hand and somewhere I might be able to find Matchbox ones. I'm in the UK and can send on Friday afternoon.
