Duck & Ar196 (1/48), blue : hybrid aircraft/animals e.a.
ericr:
What about whiffing by building hybrid aircraft/animals?
I started another topic about aircraft & music intruments where it was mentioned :
http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,37000.msg597525.html
A splendid example is inspired by this image I found somewhere :
I made a modest realization by combining a 1:72 Me262 and a blue shark (from Schleich, 1/32 I think)
I tried hybrids in both ways (this one with a 1/48 Me262)

Alvis Pi has done a few along these lines:
HMCS Coho: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29762.0/highlight,alvis+fish.html
Toad Artillery: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29793.0.html (read the whole thread: there's another one in there too!)
Nils did an Me-262 shark sub too, this one from Tintin: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29688.0.html
dumaniac:
I like it - will have to look out for plastic sharks

these are impressive!
maybe the Revell X_Ray animal kits, with one half clear plastic, could be a good basis for such builds?
especially the half-clear shark, but they seem to have a toad as well : room for an internal structure and servants ...

there are some, in different sizes and brands, and qualities ... shop around!
and as I mentioned, Revel has a big one, with one half in clear plastic : inspiring peculiarity?
