now though the order book has picked up so they are enforcing their length of time beforehand again.

Gondor

That's actually quite a good sign of things, although not much use if you need to be at home.

IMy package, a rather large cardboard box, was dropped off at the local post office and I collected it shortly after I found the card through the door, no charge either

Work wise I am running out of work again because the one person befor me was off today unexpectidly  which means nothing got built so when anything is build it's going to be that much later befor I get to do my part  :banghead:

As well as fetteling some Lightning parts for an FGA aircraft I have been checking out how well parts of the new Vulcan kit will fit into the old Vulcan kit. The reasoning behind this is that I should be able to make up the front and back pieces of the bomb bay for the old kit while making blanks to replace the sides in the new kit which a bit6 more complex than the ends. the open bomb bay doors can be simply moved from new to old kit as well especially as at least one of my three new Vulcan's is to be toting a Blue Steel missiles so these parts will not be used and to me whiffing the older kit is far more sensible than the new kit. So an Indian Air Force Vulcan B.Mk2 with an open bomb bay will full load of twenty one 1,000lb bombs is a step nearer fruition.

Stood underneath the open bomb bay of the Vulcan at Hendon the other day. I'm still amazed by the size of it  :o

The size of the Victor bomb bay should be larger as that could carry 35 x 1,000lb bombs compaired to the 21 x 1,000lb bombs of the Vulcan. The ability of the Vulcan to handle the stress of low level flying is what kept it in service as a bomber while the larger bomb bay helped the Victor as a tanker, so a sort of win win especially if your bomber is dropping buckets of instant sunshine.

Sorry, got that wrong, Wikipedia says up to Forty Eight 1,000lb bombs could be carried, that's a lot of bombs!  :o

Not much been happening modelling wise as it's been way to hot to do anything  :banghead:

What little modelling has been going on has been with my cross-kitting of the Airfix Vulcans, it seams a shame to waste the interior bomb bay detail when your doing a Blue Steel equiped aircraft dosen't it? 200 series engines as well for the Blue Steel aircraft I want to build so the 301 engines that the kit instructions will also get used on the older kit.

Plastic Card arrived today so I have no excuse not to get on with the P.Z.L. Karas I plan to build, oh wait, yes there is....
I'm on holiday.....  ;D but not for enjoyment and relaxiation, I had a bookcase to move today so that there is room for the people who are picking up my old sofa to do there thing and then the nice people from DFS will deliver a nice new and BIGGER sofa Saturday afternoon and then some time after that I move the book case back into the hall again!

63 books on the top shelf, and that's the shelf with the fewest books on it as it has the fattest books! Lots of moveing books off the bookcase before removeing the shelves so the case is light enough to move then reverse the operation.... and in this weather is exhausting.

Nice stuff now  ;D My other half's birthday was today so I visited her mum's where she is looking after her mum. As she has gotten into modelling because I do it.... and she has build a new Mini all by herself apart from a little bit of advice, so she got a couple of kits from me. An Airfix Little Owl to go along with her Robins and Kingfisher with the second kit being FAB 1 from Thunderbirds. Regarding that particular car, is the correct shade of pink available as a rattle can? If not is it available anywhere in a different formatt?

It has been too hot to do much of late.

Pink: would this do? https://www.halfords.com/motoring/paints-and-body-repair/specialist-and-decorative-paints/halfords-enamel-spray-paint-candy-pink-300ml-204490.html

That's a lot of scenery moved around... what would the Commonwealth equivalent to the 'Arc Lite' have been called?

That should do nicly   She will be far happier spraying from a can than trying to get a smooth finish from a hairy stick.

Tamiya rattle can pink primer would also be a good match for FAB1.  But she'd need to gloss clear it for a shiney finish.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Doesn't even have to be pink. Most Rollers are silver or gold. It'd look good in a two tone scheme like this https://autowise.com/2021-rolls-royce/

Oh I know that and I did say so when she unwrapped it, but it's going to be Pink! It is after all iconic as the Pink Roller from Thunderbirds so that's what it will be.
