Have a look at Admiralty and AEW by C J Gibson, there's a Turbofan powered Pembroke with an AEW Dish

Interesting.  Did a google for the Pembroke and AEW and also the Sea Prince but nothing of interest came back. Did find the book on Amazon though, but I think I'll just add it to my Christmas list..

Personally I think they're screwing us on the postage.

A Mirage F1 nose maybe?

Too short i'm afraid Kit.  I'm thinking really long and pointy.

Yeah, that works!  ;D

Would you like to use my bye-line?

Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

What I want to build in the near future are all the works in progress, just want to finish them off before starting anything new.

What I plan to build in the near future? Given the maelstrom of merde I'm struggling through at work plus numerous other diversions, planning seems a risky business, but here goes:
- the last in my T7 trilogy
- Hawker P1009
- English Electric P6/1
- Westland W36 Jet Wyvern
- Handley-Page Hardwick bomber
- CASA 1088

And an idea that I've been toying with the last day or two but trying to resist its temptations is an Invader B.1 - Centaurus-engined B-26 as an alternative to the Brigand.

And when I say 'near future' I guess I mean the next 18 months or so.

OK two years!

Well I'll join in this game.

Once the current trio are complete I will be building -

Blenheim Mk I of the Belgian AF
Hurricane Mk I of the Royal Danish AF. Twin 20mm cannon as per their Fokkers. Not sure if I have RDAF roundels ? Remind myself to check
Melding parts of a Karas and Arado 196 for my Imperial AHAF

After that ?

A Spitfire Mk I and Hurricane Mk I markings swap
A Lysander with a gondola for my IAHAF
A B-26 in SEAC markings, will look good I think and Dave's comments up above reminded me of this long laid plan
A Westland Welkin - the high altitude scheme is my second favourite after SEAC

Hopefully this year ??? Depends what takes my fancy takes at Telford plus the recently announced Airfix Swift will be a jet that requires attention. 112 Sqd in the Middle East with sharks mouth

another Martian scout tripod, and then a mix and match chop job on a Grey Knight trooper / techmarine, to get a Techmarine of the grey Knights chapter  as its one of the few figs GW don't produce that are in the codexs.
Redone 19/08/15  the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady added 07/10/18   take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.   wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

My plans for future builds are pretty simple. I'm going to clear all the 'in progress' that's sitting on shelves around my work bench as they've been sitting there for well over a yerar by now. After that - I don't know, I've been on a modle funk recently. Need to get my modelling mojo back...

Well, I fly out of CI on Thursday. (Yay! )

While I'm home I plan on finishing my (l-o-n-g running) HMBLT &, with luck, my M41AS.

We'll have to wait & see what really happens, though. :-\

I don't often buy the BBC Top Gear magazine, but the October issue has a few Whiff ideas.
I never knew that there was a VW Golf Country (AWD). Built between 1990-1991.
Turning an F-1 car into a roadcar, Nissan Zeod.
Jaguar lightweight E-type. Looks to me as if another set of doors would fit turning it into a sports sedan. Maybe a six-wheeler.

The Evening Standard had a photo of an amphibious TX2 taxi going along the River Thames.
Been to RAF Hendon yesterday. They sell the Airfix Mig-29 and EuroFighter a possible kitbash.
Chinese Mil-24 Hind.
Turbojet B-29.

Thanks to the fellow Whiffers, I've seen pictures of the DC-4E.
I know Heller do the 1/72 DC-6 range as I used to have one. The Oz Mods EC-121 resin AWACS conversion kit fits. Should be able to fit two extra fins on the tail.

I'd like to build the Grumman Greyhound in 1/72 but not as a COD. One as an airliner and the other as an ASW/maritime patrol. Falcon do a triple conversion kit in vacform, the wings, landing gear and engines off a donor E-2 Hawkeye.

Get a few of the alternative airliners built. Haven't given up on the dock yard scene, altogether. Found a layout in a Peco Handbook.

Ah yes, the Country. Looked ridiculous as they'd jacked up the whole car to fit the 4WD underneath.

The closest you can get to an F1 road car is the Caparo T-1:

We discussed a sedan based on the E-type before in this thread: http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,37719.msg634761/highlight,xj4.html#msg634761

The lightweight E-type is even smaller than the 'normal' E-type coupe...

That Caparo T1 had a whole heap of accidents IIRC. Mostly because it's aerodynamics didn't generate enough downforce to keep traction at road speeds!

I have just moved (just started university) and so my stash is now 200+ miles away at my parents' house. I have only one kit with me, which is the Bandai MG 1:100 Tallgeese kit. Should keep me occupied for a few evenings, and is a good choice because it does not require glue or paint to construct (though it will be painted - and extensively modified - eventually). Looks like this:

Has anyone built a twin engine F-16?
The EuroFighter Typhoon could be the donor kit as most manufacturers have their own model likewise the F-16.
I did add the wings from a EuroFighter to a F-16 1/72 scale to create a delta wing, so I thought if the EuroFighter was stripped down minus its vertical tail fin, canards, air intake, front cockpit area, landing gear and wings. And add the parts from the F-16.
Modify the air intake to fit and splice the new cockpit. Issues with the landing gear as this tucks into the fuselage. This could be added from the F-16 kit.
