Flight deck edge safety netting.

For flight deck edge safety netting on ships, has anyone ever used that tulle fabric netting
or any other similar fabric to create more realistic looking safety nets?
If so, how did it work out? Any tips and techniques? Show pics if you got them.

Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.

Or what about regular bug screen made out of aluminum, we had that stuff in our storm doors.

There's a type of mesh material (it's actually styrene, so that normal plastic glue can be used!) for ribbons around - not certain if it works at a typical small ship scale?

Alternatively, organza ribbon material might work, too - it's finer, but I am not certain about handling and gluing:
