Currently working on another set of renders, in my own particular style, based on what is essentially a D&D adventure hook:

It's certainly plausible. Set in the 1870's, just after the Franco-Prussian War ?

Brain just moved another cog and a thought occurred. If the French pirate had been a powder monkey (or whatever the French equivalent was) then set in the 1870's and he wouldn't need to be that elderly ? Could have him as a young member of the nobility who's fled the 1830 French revolution ? Family was on the wrong side ?

On a side note, I'm thinking of modifying the Class of 1940, as mentioned here on the blurb for the Boudicca.  As stated, four light cruisers and three fast BBs.  However, I'm thinking 8 ships- 4 light and 4 heavy cruisers- ordered from various shipyards before the runup to World War II, for two ships, the Fall of France.

Already, I've got the Brookylyn-class CL Plentyn Taranau and Town-class Boudicca.  To round out the light cruisers, a La Galissonniere and a Nürnburg.  For the heavy cruisers, I'm thinking Wichita-class and County-class.  I'm thinking either German, Italian, or French for the other two.  No need for anything heavier as, according to my headcanon, Londthyrian government purchased the four Mackensen-class battlecruisers in the early 20's, for a negotiated price of 16 million RM in gold, were completed and are in service when the Class of 1940 is entering service.

Seeing Ericr's Sunderland/RB-50 mashup in red got me to thinking...and I wonder how a Sunderland would look in either USAF TAC or SAC SEA camouflage.

Which reminds me...I *really* need to learn how to work with (and, obviously get) Adobe PS.

I was only thinking of a Sunderland in BPF colours/markings yesterday Scoot. Thoughts triggered by that very same model

Whilst I know I should be slogging along on either the Great Elven Sith War, Three Little Maids, Elven Blend, or plotting what to do for the Blue Lights GB, there are times when I pull up my render program and whatever transient nodes of inspiration I had suddenly go POOF.  Of course, I also blame the fact that SWMBO has introduced me to Rockstar Games' MMO (massively multiplayer online game) Red Dead Online, set in the waning days of the American Old West.  And being the oddball that I am, I've a mustang named Thunderbolt.  Of course, I've also got another mustang named Rossini.

Some random thoughts for Elven Blend: The War Years, I thought I'd put down to get the headcannon out of, well, my head.

The Londthyrian Confederacy purchased a number of examples of German armor and production licenses- Panzer III/IV, Sd Kfz half tracks, etc. -prior to the Japanese attacks in the Pacific, while acquiring plans for late war armor (StuG IV, Panther, JagdPanther) through industrial espionage (as a non-belligerent, neutral state with both Germany and Italy), via diplomatic pouches through Switzerland and Turkey.

Power packs and transmissions would be replaced with...sturdier American-made (GM 6046 (DD 6-71)) diesel engines and transmissions.  The JagdPanther's 88mm Pak43/x replaced by 90mm M3, produced locally.  Also produced locally are American 76mm M1 replacing the 75mm KwK 40 on the StuGs and Panzer IVs, and KwK 42 on the Panthers.  Also helps with parts and ammo availability.

(It also helps that I already have a few of these 3D assets)
Edit- remembered to "Americanize" the Stug IVs and Panthers

Today's been my annual "Avoid the Book of Faces" day, mainly because I don't want to be reminded of what happened 20 years ago.  I did, however, very early this morning share the below image taken when the US Embassy was over in Mayfair, whilst on leave during my leave from Iraq in 2005:

Elven Blend musings at work today...

Could Concorde (blasphemously) be upgraded to GE F101s?  Random speculations on a (pair of) receptacle equipped Concordes kitted out as executive transports

Apparently there was reckoned to be quite some development potential in the Olympuses (Olympii?)  so more thrust is possible.    To quote the Skipper of the Clyde puffer  The Vital Spark  "More steam Mc Phail!!"    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vital_Spark

That would have been a downgrade..................

Today's Christmas Eve shenanigans involve building IKEA Ivar in our spare room.  Well, more like taking two of the Ivar cabinets which single stack (I think?) and turning them into a double stack cabinet for the cat blankets.
