RAF F-18's

Hey, they're pretty cool Nick.  I especially like the red arrows one, that would look great in kit form (or RL!).

Now we need to think of ways for the RAF to get Hornets.  Cancellation of the Jag would be too early...cancellation of Tornado following German pullout?  Bought for RN carrier which was then scrapped and birds passed to RAF a la Bucc and Phantom?

Davey,
Are you thinking of something like the machines here?

Not quite Nick, the machine in question's hidden somewhere in British Secret Projects, but I'll post a picture when I can get to a scanner.

I've got a 1:48 Zhengdefu Ching-Kuo kit I could spare. Let me know if you're interested.
Thanks for the offer JHM, but I don't think my finances can stretch to mailing a kit here from Canada. Perils of student life I'm afraid. Christ, I don't even go out any more, and I've had to cut the beer down to three crates a week  :dr  :aa  :h

Just found this collection of pages about the Hornets used by the RVAF aka the Royal Virtual Air Force. I recommend you click on the top banner to reach their home page with other squadrons.

Hmm, I've been thinking of someting similar for a while, but in stead of 'proper' Hornets, the UK (in this case the FAA) would get the BAC/BAe P.96F, similar in design to the F-18, but slightly smaller. I'd planned to kitbash an F-18 with a Taiwanese F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo (former's wings and LERX, latter's fuselage), but I can't seem to find a Ching-Kuo kit anywhere. Saw one on eBay ages ago, but didn't buy it coz it was in 1:32 and my house isn't very big. Hey ho, and some very nice piccies.
