Hi all,
Over the weekend the club held its annual fly-in at their spiritual home of Taumarunui, where it was formed in 1969. Old hands reckon it was one of the best ever with a remarkable number and range of aircraft (despite the name, all types are welcome). Here are a few pictures to hopefully convey what an awesome day Saturday was.

Hey, Zac

Cool shots, thanks for sharing. Looks like a good day!

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

zenrat

Yeah, thanks for the share Zac.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Looks like a great way to spend a day!

Awesome is what that is.

Thanks Zero-sen.

It would make a great basis for a whiff.

It'd make a good whiff for using to spray drug crops - the job they do (cropdusting) in real life anyway - though might need a smidgen more armour...

The PAC750 development is cool, too.

My pleasure! We're fortunate to have so many neat machines here.

I used to work on this one, too! You can get a 1/72 Unicraft kit but...well, it's Unicraft! I tried to give Igor as much info as possible but it has some errors that need fixing.

Rick's link above says "Work was continuing in 2016 on developing a Defender II variant for COIN and light attack operations."

Oo, I'd missed that - interesting.
As it can carry 17 people and their 'chutes, the payload for munitions should be worthwhile.

I note that a lot of the ones sold to China and converted into drones have crashed in landing accidents... this doesn't fill me with any confidence WRT autonomous aircraft - and by extension, ground vehicles...  :o  :banghead:
