Its near the end of 1946...the Germans are throwing anything and everything they can into the fight including any prototype that will move .
The Elephant Mk16 {British designation} is a very up gunned  version of the 88mm model..now mounting the 128mm PAK44 cannon and it was decided right from the start to lengthen the hull to except the new gun which in turn would give the space which was more than needed to man handle the rather large 128mm rds.
One thing which was over looked and had been a problem with this version of the Elephant right from the start was its notoriously unreliable tracks and suspension ..track breakages were so common that the German engineers used to have trucks set up with nothing but track parts to replace pins in the field ,,its was surmised that it was sabotage when the steel was tempered and made weaker than it should have been but due to the way the war was progressing unchecked items were making their way to the battle fronts which for the Germans was far to many ,,.and this is the result of those faulty track pins.

If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .
