Latest build, Real World OOB Trumpeter 1/48 Early Wyvern.  Not a bad kit at all and a relatively pleasant build, but (like their Sea Hawk) it seems engineered more towards wings folded than spread.

Definitely a pleasant enough build that I'll be getting another for US service though.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Neat build of a weird aircraft!

Weird the Wyvern surely was, but when one coming straight at you, at an air display or elsewhere, they look and sound positively frightening!  :o

That Python engine made a very odd sound, half whine, half roar, and the contra-prop just added to it all.

A really awesome machine, especially as they're so big too.

I am building the Trumpeter Seafang and have the Wyvern in the stash.  How did you find assembling the contra-rotating prop.  Both kits use the same configuration of parts and i am having troubles (fit is not good, loose)

I was pleasantly surprised with the counter rotating gear system.  I really started out assuming it would be a royal pain and I'd end up glueing the props in a fixed position, but it went together simply and works a charm.

No contra prop in scale can be as bad as that on Valom's Lockheed Salmon.

Nice build AD.  Wyverns are one of my favourite aircraft - weird looking and surprisingly heavy.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Oh dear, is it THAT bad to build?

The KP Pogo one goes together quite well in comparison.

Nice job there sir, must admit it's one of my favourite aircraft and one day I will get around to building the CMR TF.1 in the stash.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

AeroplaneDriver

It's one of my favorites too.  I remember getting a book titled "British Military Aircraft" when I was about 11. It had a lovely picture of a Wyvern and I fell in love with its brutish lines.  Glad I finally got around to building one.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Nick

That is a lovely build you've done there. Wyverns seem to hit that balance between being large and bulky while also looking sleek and fast.

Glue it up solid and you'll be fine.  I tried to make it turn.

Thanks, sounds a good idea.
