I've some leftover 1/72 markings but no kit, if that helps?

Thanks but no, it doesn't.  I'm after a kit, preferably Airfix but Lindberg will do.  I want to do a major conversion on it.

The Airfix version is on my "destroyed as a kid - make amends" list but they seem rare.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

As rare as rocking horse pooh, unfortunately.  Hence my appeal...

Last Airfix release was '94.  Apparently the cowlings are pooh due to being moulded as one piece and having to be tapered so the moulds release.
Scalemates says Bilek repopped the Airfix moulds (might explain where they have gone) and there is also an Italeri/Revell/Tamiya version.

I've built the Italeri one and it's ok. It also seems to be much more common on the UK show circuit, indeed I've not seen an Airfix one.

Interestingly Hannants have it down to Backorder ? Do they know something ?

Forgotten the Italeri one.  OK, one of it or it's repops would do.  Bilek I wasn't aware of.  It would do as well.
