How to reduce carbon emissions - Tip #1 - Walk to the Bar for drinks.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Rheged

Summer holiday near Leuchars when I was just a little Rheged, you could park off the road near the end of the runway.  I've watched Lightnings setting off like that on several occasions.............I assume they were going on a Bear hunt.

THANK you Brian!

I'd forgotten about that programme, but I can remember the original broadcast now, with my mate Raymond Baxter's refined tones telling it all like it was.  ;D

My ex-boss, now sadly passed on, was a backsteater in one of the 54 Sqdn. Phantoms in that show too.

There is also apparently a longer version of this programme.  I remember watching a Farnborough show on the TV downunder when I was a wee lad.  I was most impressed by the Lightning hurtling down the runway and breaking the speed barrier as it entered a vertical climb to disappear in the cloud layer.  Most impressed.

I went to RAF Coltishall's BoB Display in September 1965 when 74 Sqdn were working their Lightnings up to speed, 'Speed' being the operative word.  :o

Their display was MIND boggling, the entire squadron did the '90-degree-turn-on-lift-off-and-climb-vertically' thing, one after the other. The noise level was HORRENDOUS!

Even my new wife (of one week, as we were on our honeymoon.... ;)) was impressed and she wasn't really a Complete Aviation Person, unlike me. That was Mrs_PR19 #1, not the late #2 version.

Watched this last night and then found myself building a Hasegawa Jaguar today.

The two may be connected.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
