It's a BEACH, it gets levelled by the tide twice a day! Strewth..........

No one was on the beach at the time of the landing.

Local police.  They probably got the heads up from ATC after the mayday.  Thankfully there were no bathers, which is what I think they meant in the article.  Otherwise it probably would have been...messy

Long time ago, my parents used to take us on holiday up in Wales where there was a really long hard sand beach which Dad drove the car onto, I seem to remember it was near Barmouth but I could be wrong.

That Herk flew into Pembry IIRC. They hold sand races on the beach there every year too.

Pendine Beach is about 6 miles long and they have races on it. I think that some world land speed records were set there before WWII ?
