Just finished my latest build.  It's the lovely Tamiya 1/48 F-84G.  The kit damn near build itself with no really issues anywhere as far as I could tell.  It's OOB with the kit decals.  It's my first attempt at NMF since getting back into building.  Nothing very adventurous, just Testors Metalizer right out of the rattle can.  I might get more adventurous for the next try.

I'm thinking this kit would lend itself nicely to an early 50s RAFG Thunderjet FB.1...Or possibly late 50s RAFAux...hmmmm...

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Very smart indeed.

And I agree about an RAuxAF scheme, they were all very colourful.

Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

I seem to remember Extradecal did a really nice sheet of Meteor RAuxAF decals...would be just the ticket.

If they're repros of the Modeldecal sheets, there's two of them, but they're in 1/72.

But didn't Tamiya re-pop their F-84 in the smaller scale too?

Yes
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

For an unadventurous metal finish it looks very good!

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Funny you should say that....

Though admittedly this is the Hobbyboss 1/72 example...

Does that have refuelling probes on BOTH tanks? Most unusual, but very smart in that scheme.

Yup! A bit of a design flaw in some respects, I think I might change that for my Kenyan FB.2 when I get to it...

That's very nice!!!! I, too, am a big fan of the colorful era of both the USAF and USN.
