It appears that my hovertank post has disappeared, at least I can't find it. So here is the original post and my latest update.
Thanks to all who commented. I appreciate your input.

This will be my attempt at building a hovertank.
The black sides and the white front are parts from computer printers cut down to approximately 1/35th scale size. The other white parts are plastic sheet. The louver on top is from a car part.

I have no idea what to use as a turret. I might go Swedish "S" tank and use no turret at all. Or I could use the spare M48 turret, M51 Isherman turret or the old CD player I have in the drawer. All suggestions are welcome.

Making a little progress on the hovertank. I've closed in the front glasis plate area.

I tried the CD player as a turret but it was too big. I found this old base for a microphone in the drawer of stuff. It should make a good turret.

I glued on some plastic sheet to cover holes I don't want showing. I'm calling it applique armor.

Ohhh yes.  This is good.
Use the thing you have mocked up as the turret, it looks great.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It looks pretty good so far, but I can't remember seeing a previous thread about it. When did you start it off?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The turret shape looks cool. A mouse (part of)?

The base for a mike. They are really handy.

I'm going with "vectorable anti gravity drive". A system able to climb hills and drive straight in a crosswind.
That's my story and I'm stickn' to it!

I managed to get a little work done on the turret. Too cold around here to do much else. I'll have pic tomorrow.

Just a couple of progress shots.
Basic turret is just about done, time to accessorize!

Gun barrel and hatch are from the M51 Isherman kit.

Looking good!
The muzzle brake still looks futuristic, even now...

zenrat

I presume the vectorable anti-grav drive also includes recoil compensation?

Well, with all the lessons the Slammers have taught us, I should darn well hope so!

Don't forget the essential rules:

No stripes with dots

No checks under any circumstances

Tartan is just WRONG!!

Basic Black is always in fashion.

;D ;D

Thanks for the kind comments!
Real life is in the way lately but things do progress. Pics soon.

Added a few bits to the turret.

Some sensor do hickies and smoke grenade launchers.

I also placed some Perfect Plastic Putty around the turret mounting plate to blend it in. Sanding and probably more putty await.

I need to know what I could do with the back side of this beast. Any ideas?
