I got an idea, about pairing up aircraft and vehicles with the same name or sound the same. The colour scheme could be the same on both models
The Grumman Panther and Panther Cars
Jaguar and jaguar cars
Lamborghini Huracan and the Hawker Hurricane
Triumph Spitfire and  the Supermarine Spitfire
AC Cobra and the Bell Cobra helicopter
Triumph Lynx or Lynx Cars and the Westland lynx.
I know Porsche, Mitsubishi , Maserati  British Leyland and SAAB both build cars and have dabbled in building aircraft.
Are there any others that I have missed?

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Two that come to mind:

Grumman Wildcat and buick Wildcat
Grumman Bearcat and Stutz Bearcat

Ford in the USA built a version of the F-150 as the Lightning- so you could have a P-38/EE Lightning/F-35.

Grumman has also built buses and mail trucks- would like to see a bus in the Atlantic 3-tone scheme....

Wildcat- Buick

Cutlass- Oldsmobile

Skyhawk- Buick

Catalina- Pontiac

I really like this idea. It's similar to the one I had for my Area 88 project to pair up jets with their Propeller ancestors, using as direct a lineage as possible...

So the F-8E Crusader becomes an F4U-1 Corsair
The F-14 Tomcat becomes the F7F Tigercat, etc.

One thing to consider is how the complementary paint jobs will look... are you going to paint the cars with gull-grey with roundels or are you going to paint the planes with midnight blue... ;)
Thanks!

I sense the makings of a GB or a show theme here, but they aren't really in the WhiffWorld.

I'm making a "Vanquish" aeroplane right now.. I suppose I could plop down an AM Vanquish next to it.

All kinds of interesting ideas here. A ton of American auto manufacturing was directly inspired by the jets of the 50's. That's how we got all the fins and stuff on things like Bel-Aires.
