The IPMS(UK) host its annual show Scale Model World again on the 10th & 11th of November at the Telford International Centre, Telford, Shropshire, UK.

http://ipmsuk.org/ipms-scale-modelworld/

The What IF SIG and Project Cancelled SIG will again both be displaying at the show, although we are still awaiting confirmation of which Hall and the location within that Hall.

Again there are strict rules on access due to the public liability insurance which limits access during the setup period, so if turning up as a member of the SIG during the set-up period without a valid wristband you will be unable to access the hall until it opens to the IPMS members at 9:00 am or general public at 10:00am. Please arrange in advance with one of the SIG set up crew to arrange a meet up in the car park to collect models for the stands if necessary. (Even with strict access controls outside the show open hours, there are hundreds of people in the halls, setting up, club, sig or traders stands, plus IPMS marshal's and centre staff doing the final touches along with a restricted number cars, vans or even light trucks for traders).

So a chance for the regulars to meet up and reacquaint themselves and for new people and forum members to introduce themselves, lots to see, lots to talk about and unfortunately lots to buy !!, so bring money, a welcome smile and comfy shoes as it can involve a lot of walking to get around the hall and see everything. Weather can also vary, we have had it bitterly cold and frozen, blowing a blizzard or a storm, still wet and grey, thick fog or even warm and sunny, so be prepared as being Britain all of those can actually effect us over the same day let alone weekend !!!

Think you mean:

Quoteso if turning up as a member of the SIG during the set-up period without a valid wristband you will be UNABLE to access the hall until it opens to the IPMS members at 9:00 am or general public at 10:00am.

Cheers Geoff, saves me a job posting that little lot up.

The what if sig? set up crew this year is as follows
Me (Martin Higgs)
Chris Edwards
Nick Pedley
Mike McEvoy.

The two model per sig member guideline will be in play. Althou there is nothing to stop any one swapping there models dureing the show to get more models in public view. If numbers are down or there is enought room on the tables, I may be able to relax the guideline.

The breaking news for the sig is that I am hoping to have a new display stand in time for the show.

IPMS Coventy & Warwickshire are replacing their current display stand rig with a new and for their needs better stand. I have offered to buy their old stand. It isnt cheap, and it will get a decent refurb before they hand it over. Once it is in my possion, it will remain my personal property but there for the SIG to use. This is all dependant on wether Cov & warks get their new stand in time for the Nationals, as they are running a little behind shedule with the construction of their new rig.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Have they got a monster tank to get in through there again this year? If so I'm glad I WON'T be there on Friday!

Quite near the Overseas's Section again, good  They are a fun bunch of ladies and gents. Eduard on one side and Special Hobby on the other ??? Won't have to walk far  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

The Wooksta!

That's not necessarily a good thing - Eduard are trying and could well bankrupt me!  Depending on what Spitfire overtrees they have this year...

Shall we try and outdo them on the hospitality this year? Who's bringing the coat rack?

Sadly chaps a work commitment means I can't make it this year, which is a bummer as I've not been to a show this year and I always look forward to catching up with folk.

And the AZ SR53 will have to wait.

I'm sure all will have a great time, and the SIG display will be excellent.

Yes but on the overhand it does make touring the two main halls that much harder instead, and then there's the loading and unloading as getting to that garage door in the car on a Friday and even more so on a Sunday is a right pain at times and the alternative is out the main doors and up those steps or out through 2 and 1 and through the car parks round to the master car park !.

That's a big pain Dave, you'll be missed, as well as your exotic creations.
