im thinking of getting a few 1/72 Mig-29A's, but the Trumpeter kit is quite expensive here.
i was wondering what the best 1/72 fuclrum is, is it ICM, Italeri or Airfix?

its the early model Mig-29A im looking for, as i know the best affordable one is the Zvezda SMT version.

The Italeri kit is quite a nice one, had one in the stash for ages along with the 2 seater version. I can't see it being too inaccurate myself but I am sure there will be someone here who can verify that.

The Tamiya 1/72 '29 is the Italeri one re-boxed.
It builds up quite well but the seam along the nose cone is a PitA.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I have built the ESCI, Italeri and Revell (Kangnam) kit. Of these, I found the Italeri/Tamiya kit to be the overall "best". Looks like a MiG-29.
The Kangnam thing is rubbish, unless you want a REALLY whiffy thing, and IIRC the ESCI kit comes with moulded/fixed air intake louvers, and I found the cockpit section to be oddly wide.

I have a couple of the Kondor versions of the MIG-29, awkward to build in places and the detail is very soft. Cheap to buy though, and they do several other versions of it too, so ok for wiffing. I built one of their MIG-31's and did it as a Strike-Hound armed with SEAD ordnance. I have nearly finished it too  ;D

According to scalemates, the Condor and the ICM kit are the same - what makes me wonder a little. Even the Zvezda kit is the Italeri mould! The Trumpeter kit seems to be the only "different" option.  :-\

Actually the Zvezda Migh-29 9-13 and Mig-29 SMT are there own new tools and are supposed to be the most accurate. They are supposed to be working through the family so the Mig-29A will be replaced by their own tool sometime in the future.

What about the Airfix one, or is that someone else's in disguise? To my utter amazement I find I have one in The Loft.  :o :o
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model
