I've been toying with this idea for a while now.  And before you all think "Hotshots Part Deux", no, not like that!  This will be something different.  Think more aircraft but no aircraft carrier.....yet still at sea.

More to follow, when I have something to show.

So, launched from a modified Resolution-class SSBN, complete with wings that fold completely against the fuselage, folding tail surfaces, RATO bottles and ZELL launch rail? ;D

Half right.  ZELL from the deck of a warship.  Air protection for groups or convoys that don't have carrier support.  Still working on the recovery bit....

A update on the CAM Hurricane used in WW2 but using ZELL instead of the Catapult and a lightweight disposable Gnat instead of the Hurricane ?

Exactly.  But I'm hoping it won't necessarily be as "throw away" as the Hurricane's were.

Made from plastic strip etc and a plastic PTFE tape dispenser...

I've never seen the lattice styrene before, who/ where did you get that ? Is it Evergreen ? Sure would be handy in a few ideas I've had over the years !

I think so. Got it in Ruddocks in Lincoln. It's a craft shop. I agree, it is handy, and takes a lot of work out of the build.

You can usually find it at model railway stores, too.
