FAR148

I was looking through my photo archive and came across pics I took of my first "What-If" project,  "My Baby" She's over 20 years ago!(Where does the time go!) She started life as monogram 48 scale F/A-18. I cut her wings off and move them rearward. The inner section of the wing is from an F-4 and outer from the hornet. I reduced the fuselage hump and reshaped it with vinyl spackling of all things! I shorten the rear end and added F-4 nozzles. Her tails are from a F-15 with resin tips. The canards are tail planes from an F-5. I scratch built the intake from sheet styrene. The IRST on the nose is sculpey.  Her wingtip ECM pods are styrene rod with putty tips. I remember the paint job with a nightmare. My first and only splinter camouflage. I've always wanted to build another.

EXACTLY what I was thinking too! It's those tall fins and the wing waaaaay to the back of the airframe that does it I think.

A super job there Steven, it really looks very Soviet.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Very good.
It's putting me in mind of something other than Firefox but I can't quite put my finger on it.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Very nice work and very Soviet!

Thanks everybody for stopping by and checking her out. I'm surprise I still have her. She weight a ton, very heavy due to the amount of putty is on her.

Thanks again,
Steven
