Captain Canada

I'd love to get in on this, and clear up a few ideas I've had on the back burner.

-An A-10/ Growler mash up. 4 place fuselage with A-10 engines and wings. Loiter, jam, and bomb !

-A trio of RCN subs at rest

-Illustrious sister ship in RCN service. OOB with a green deck and maybe a scratch built Tracker or two. 700 scale I think. Still need that kit.

-Can't think of the name but the navalized T-bird, again in RCN colours.

I started to convert a T-33 into a T2V Seastar, (what a navalized T-Bird is called), then I got hold of a vacuform kit, then the Sword kit of it
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

I agree.......A10/Growler has to be made......
BODY,BODY....HEAD..!!!!

IF YER HIT, YER DEAD!!!!

Don't you mean A-10 and Prowler? Because Growler only has two seats. Unless it's a Zwilling Growler or you incorporate both Growler and N/AW A-10 cockpits... ;D

Captain Canada

Yes I did ! I had forgot all about that one ! That was from a couple of 144th scale kits. My original plan ( from back in 2002 ? ) was for 72nd scale. I think maybe ST and Ollie were the ones whom originally supplies the kits. Or maybe it was SWMBO.

Do you mean the Dragon Invincible class or the Aoshima Illustrious class carrier ?

The Tracker can be found in one of the Pitroad Wings of the West sets, but if your thinking a Harrier Carrier then I would suggest Vikings modified with a larger engines to represent one of the USN VTOL types intended for the Sea Control Ship perhaps.

Thanks for the input ! I'm thinking it was the Dragon one. I'll be off to my LHS tomorrow. And off to Google to check out some Pit Road !

Sweet, the Pit Road West Wings sets are VERY nice, but you only get a handful of each type. Gets expensive to outfit a proper carrier deck....

If you want a hint of what an 1/700 INVINCIBLE may look like with a green (and angled) deck like here she is in Argentinian   service:

I fretted over the length of the angled deck, but after careful measurements and by limiting the angle degree, the actual angled flight deck is quite comparable to the MAJESTIC'S, so in my WHIF world reasoning if the Bonaventure, 25 De Mayo, Melbourne etc. could operate the tracker, so could and angled deck INVINCIBLE/LUSTY/ROYAL.  No way if she was still a straight deck.  The Tracker/Tracer have a surprising wide wing span.....

Thanks for the pic ! I think Geoff's VSTOL Viking idea would be the way to go.

I'm going to start simple and do the T2-V OOB with RCN training markings. I am going to finish at least 1 GB entry this time !
