My holy grail! Picked up the Otaki 1/144 scale C-5A Galaxy today!

My local hobby shop owner bought a big collection and gave me a fair (not quiet crazy Ebay) price of $75.  The very high end of my price range, but I've wanted one for years and have a few WHIF ideas.

1/72 Two seat Harrier for scale.  Big box.

Wow!  :o  I was looking for one of those years ago but now I'm kind of glad I didn't find one because I don't have the space for it!
I had an idea of having one parked with a wrapped-up part-dismantled F-117 or F-19 Stealth being dragged out of the back as they were delivered in that way.

Imagine one in 1/72?!   That one is like 3 and half feet long...     :o    (about 3 and a half hundred dollars, too....  )

I think the 1/144 is perfect.. big enough to be BIG and small enough to fit somewhere...... hopefully.   ;)

If its 72nd scale you want...............................................try this one for size   And you were pretty much there on the price as well.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Yeah, that's the one I had in mind!! One day I'd like to have one.    Not sure where I'd keep it, but man, I need one for my 1/72 fleet.  I get a kick out of the words, "gigantic casting."  That's the truth, for sure!!

Those Anigrand folks make a lot of really neat subject matter. Way out of my price range, though.  About the cheapest one I've see is this thing for ~ $50. (looking now at the website you posted I see some more for cheaper, sweet!  )

I wonder how good the quality is of Anigrand stuff?

Never seen any but, from what I've read, generally very good.

Close!

I've got two C-5 Galaxy's in 1/72 (one Blackbird Models one and one Combat Models one), and two 747's (Both Aircraft in Miniature).  Here's a pic of the 1/72 drawing that comes with the Blackbird Models kit.

The floor boards here are about 5" wide, the tiny kit in the bottom right corner is a 1/72 Bede BD5

I've also got the 1/144 Revell kit of the C-5, plus the An-124 and A380

My goodness, you could club someone to death with it!   :o ;D ;D

How close was I? I did some quick math and came up with approx 41 inches. Math isn't always my strong point.   ;)

The Cyber Hobby 1/72 Meteor Mk.1 was at the post office today.  What a lovely little kit, and it has not one but "two" jet engines included. The jet engined FTB Anson is definitely on----

From vendors at the Wings model show at the Australian National Aviation Museum at Moorabbin.  All 1/72 obviously. ;D
Zvezda Gloster E28/39 (the frog moulds).

Cooperativa (scalemates says UNDA moulds - box says distributed by MPM) Su-25UBK Frogfoot.

And for the Hasegawa "box art collection"
FW 190D (Look! Swastikas on the box top!  Having viewed them I feel the urge to do unspeakable things like vote One Nation!).

T-33A Shooting Star.

T-38A Talon

I just wish the vendor hadn't put those big green price labels on the Hasegawa boxes.  They'll rip the boxes if I try and peel them off so i'll have to let time loosen the glue for me.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I've got the 1/72 Anigrand Martin SeaMaster kit. The fuselage halves don't mach up but dipping them into hot water will regain the shape, the instructions are not as crude as the Mach2 kit but lack detailing. The moulding can be a bit thick in places. Best wash all resin parts before assembly.
