Not really a what-if, but a ship has left NöNö Bärs shipyard:

A Spruance-class destroyer in 1:700, a LEE model. Btw, did you know that the chinese word "Lee" means something like "We try to build scale model kits, but they do not fit together at all, so model builders want to throw them out of the window".....
I guess this was the first Spruance-class destroyer which was close to fly out of the window from the 6th floor....

Anyway, it was more or less a test model and the first attempt to use pe-parts on it, including the crew.

Haha....funny. Those Spruances are great looking warships. That's how a sea going fighter should look. One toured the Great Lakes a few years back and I toured around it all day....they pretty much had to throw me off !

Back to the Flottenraketenboot - former Kriegsmarine Flottentorpedoboot 1939:

The SS-N-2 and SS-N-22 are now mounted, there are only some more details missing and some cleanup has to be done.

I had to choose a different name as "Karl Marx" was already used by a real Volksmarine ship. But I think "Rosa Luxemburg" would also be acceptable :)

Good to see a vessel not the usual big ships like CVs and BBs.

USS New Jersey, BB-62, Vietnam
USS Neshanic, AO 71, out of Lindberg Neches and a WHOLE lot of extra details
And several other vessels named after NJ, locations and battles herein, and people herefrom

The Rosa Luxemburg is in its final phase of getting its crew right now, pics will follow.

In the meantime, another ship has left NöNö Bärs shipyard, something OOB and quite common:

An old Revell 1:570 scale Scharnhorst, build OOB, with the early 1943 camo painting. I just added some radars and tried something new for the antennas

Now that the Flottenraketenboot is completed, something small afterwards:

A little Gemran S-Boot (or E-boat as called in English) of Hellers 1/400 Kriegsmarine set.
This set contains 12 of those little S-boats, a Type VII sub, two Minehunters 1935, a Flottentorpedoboot 1939 and a Destroyer type 1936Mob. So a lot to build.

As there are quite a lot of them in this box, I want to try out several different camos - but the first one is just build out-of-the-box to see hot it fits together.

And this one is quite small, just about 8 centimeters.

Two (non what-if's) ships just left NöNö Bärs shipyard:

Another S-boot of Hellers Kriegsmarine Set:

Now there are only ten of them left to build....

And the German Destroyer Mölders (Charles F. Adams Class):

Scale is 1:700, the model is by Revel. This ship is now a msueum ship in the Marinemuseum in Wilhelmshaven.

Together with the DDG 963 Spruance which is much bigger

Now that the shipyard is free for another project, NöNö Bär will start something new here soon which requires a lot more modifications to a kit (take 3 kits and make one ship out of it...)

The new year has started (ok, a while ago already), I'm back form vacation and the carnival season is over, so its time to open the shipyard again.

The next project will be mainly build from those two kits:

The basic idea is: The Graf Zeppelin carrier was completed and survived WW2. It was still operational in the 1960s and was updated and modernized.
The Revell Graf Zeppelin Model is like this:

If the Graf Zeppelin would have been completed, it would have looked like this:

First steps will be to modifiy the flight deck

Why is the Kitty Hawk 1/800 scale? That's a very non-standard scale as I understand it. Are we back in the 'fit the box' era again?
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The Kitty Hawk is a Zhengdefu kit, they have several one in those scale. You can even build it with a little battery powered motor....
The quality of them is just poor, but I can use a few spare parts of this one for the GZ.

The Zhengdefu  kit has some A7 with it, maybe I can use those (the scale difference would not be that big). So I could have those here on board:
