Whoops, looks like the XF-91 was V-tailed or radar-nosed, but not both, in which case, I'll take the latter please.

The original YF-102 wasn't area-ruled, but the YF-102A and following production were.  The fuselage is "pinched in" midway along, then flares back out towards the engine nozzle.

You can see it in this view.  The fuselage kink is located underneath the buzz number.

There you go, I had convinced myself that the F102 wasn't designed 'with' the area rule and the F106 was.

Dagger looks nice.

Latest release, 1/35 Middle Easterners, a set of civilians to compliment the pick-ups.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

It's already out in the far east, expect it to be here by SMW.

Mang are supposed to be announcing a new kit at SMW as they have sponsered one of the halls, hopefully it will be British possibly a follow on to their A-39 Tortoise to continue their work with the Tank Museum at Bovington. I know they have already announced their 1/48th Me-410 so i think it will be something new and hopefully of British origin or use.

Given their predeliction for projects, it could be quite interesting.

Wonder if it has 4 propeller engines and was used for AEW purposes, my pure guess.

I never saw the G-91 either, but if it's as good as their Dagger it'll sell well. Did anyone buy a Dagger BTW?

That G.91's tempting: I've got a terminally cocked-up Red Arrows one in the naughty corner, with a painted-but-not-yet-installed Pavla seat lying around.......

I finally got myself one of those "Kayaba 'Katsuodori' Type 4 Ram-Jet Fighter" kits.

That may not sound like much for those of you who already have the kit but for those that don't, lemme tell you that the things are now well nigh impossible to find.  They hit the market just a year ago and now they're gone.  Out of production and very, very out of stock.  Bear that in mind with their Ki-98 kit.

It took me no small amount of Google-fu to finally track one down - from Hobby Cult in Sofia, Bulgaria - of all places!

It is indeed a well executed little kit.  Nicely moulded with a fine level of detailing.

I do have some questions about its depicted layout.  The thing is supposed to be a ramjet yet it has an insert for turbine blades.  That doesn't add up.  I've hunted around a bit and I'm thinking that there really should be no pilot seat in the thing.  Instead, and from the "hump" atop the fuselage behind the canopy, it makes more sense for the pilot to have been prone inside the cockpit and for the fuselage beneath him to have just been a straight through tube.

Anyone out there have any reference material on this bird?

Thanks,

Madoc

The only reference I could find was my copy of Japanese secret projects by edwin dyer from midland/ian allan. It gets three  pages there and still says that the pilot sat not lying prone. Illustrations are a 3 view and a nice picture.  much space is taken up discussing ramjets and the planned armament with the concept being dismissed as unworkable, partly helped by inappropriate armament choice.
