I like my models to have that well-used look.
So, to the couuent project.
I weathered my F-8E in the normal eway (washes, repainting, pencil, etc..) and put the decals on over a Kleer gloss coat or two.
The stencilling bloody silvered however.
So, using a technigue I've used only slightly before, I've taken some well-used wet and dry and lightly sanded over the whole thing.
This gets rid of all the loose-silvered bits of decals, leaves the bits of stencilling that have stuck still on, and highlights all that raised detail.
A very good dusting, flat varnish and a bit of silver pencil, and then I HOPE it'll look a bit like the stuff flown by the Greeks and Turks.

As a footnote, the RN NEVER repainted their F4U Corsairs (unlike other services) so that's why their Corsairs looked so great and dirty, that's only if they hadn't crashed/been shot down/hit the deck, etc., before!
My F-8E(UK) follows the same principle.

I know, Nev.
Like Wooksta, I've just got (ie about a month ago!) a new digi camera, so I intend to swamp everyone with photos some day soon.
