OK, I saw these a number of years ago and didn't figure out what they were, except "Harrier IIIs". Then, at secretprojects they were posted again and were identified as a MDD+BAe project. Next, searching the web, some Filipino woodcarver sells them as Grumman Model 698, which they are not.

So please, if someone can help me shed some light on the matter, identify these project, and, if you have a 3-view, please post it.

Thanks,
Rafa

It could be a Hawker Siddeley Kingston P.1228. That has the same configuration, but I can't find pictures of the 1228.

Hmm....I might have to try to build that....

You are correct its not the Grumman Model 698!

From Hawker Aircraft since 1920, Francis K. Mason, Putnam/NIP, 3rd Edition 1991; the description on the
drawing is the only information provided in the book.

Interesting-looking beast, isn't it? I must say it looks a bit unbalanced - the nozzles look too far back to provide stable thrust for VTOL - unless the front of the aircraft is extremely light.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I knew I had seen that before Jon ---

It could be either one of the HS.1202 or HS.1216 families of designs.  Reading through Chapter 14 in BSP-Jet Fighters since 1950 you get the feeling it's one of those.
