Usually, the Brisbane PX is held on the Saturday before Mothers' Day, (7th May) but knowing the IPMS, it could be next Christmas!!
To me, the IPMS is a subversive organization out to only help themselves! In other words....anyone else who is not in it, bugger them!
There is no info on their web site, and it seems to be 'for members eyes only', but will keep you informed.
I have never left a PX, without a rare model in my hand,(paid for, of course!)

PS. Last year, held at the Aspley High School, Zillmere Road,

Glen,

Please keep me informed - might try to make it this year.

Charming you despise the organisation that arranges and runs these shows yet happily benefit from said show. The IPMS (International Plastic Modellers Society to those who won't have a clue) is an organisation of modellers, manned by modellers, run by modellers for the benefit of modellers, yes we pay sub, which are managed to promote the hobby and arrange model shows where members can gather and display their builds as a club or Special Interest Group. Without such groups i rather doubt this website would exist today as the IPMS(UK) What-if SIG soon adopted it as their unofficial home nearlly 8 years ago.

If you have a gripe with your own IPMS(Oz) organisation then please don't use this website to take a pot shot at it as their are plenty of international IPMS members here who would stongly disagree.

Perhaps an Australian IPMS member might care to inform you as to whats happening about the 2011 PX, its quite possible they are struggling to organise or fund the PX show or the advertising has been slow to be issued.

Yeah, I do sound like I hate the IPMS(Australia), don't it........well, I was a member once, but was pissed at the way they went on, and treated people. I joined back in the early 1960's but soon realised it was for modellers who only build 'plastic kits', and not someone who likes to 'scratch-build' and butcher.....but I still believe they are members of the G.R.U.!

PS. Greg, if you do get there, I have rings and a bracelet on my right hand.

I was a member of IPMS Qld for 10yrs & finaly left for several reasons ... fed up with being on the committee as no-one else (apart from the 4 or 5 usual good-guys) wanted to do it (out of a membership of 60).  Also I modded & whiffed - not the done thing in model-club circles !  Found that guys in Qld clubs didn't know about prototypes like the Porsche Tiger II etc.

Happier here   than in any club

Was on the annual model-show & PX committees for several years too - but never found a suitable kit to buy at PX

That's a problem in any group of people. Why so many kids football clubs close when the guy who does all the organising retires. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I'm one of natures natural "volunteers"  :banghead:

Long time to keep a grudge, isn't it?

I used be one too but by sheer hard work I've mostly suppressed the urge -- but on occassion my better nature still surfaces when I don't concentrate  ;D

isn't that what grudges are for

No, Grudges are a "temporary" device to be used until   REVENGE  is obtained.

Still no takers on referencing my comment?

Anyway, unfortunately I won't make it to this - won a big contract yesterday and have quite a bit to do this weekend now.
