Hey Guys, a Question kinda Struck me just now. Has the Cessna Skymaster Ever been Used or Modelled as an ASR(Air Sea Rescue) Search Aircraft? got some Ideas & Might Give it a Try. What Say You? Thanks For Looking.Dan

Maverick

Dan,

There was a conversion (USCG?) for the Skymaster with a single rear engine & the forward space being taken up by a FLIR & other avionics IIRC.

civilian Skymasters have often been used as supplements to coast-guard searches in many countries due to their good speed & range. Don't think any have been in ASR colour-schemes tho -- maybe a USAF O-2 ?
you may as well all give up -- the truth is much stranger than fiction.

I'm not sick ... just a little unwell.

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

Thanks,Jim. didn't know the Navy used The Skymaster. Think Chrome Yellow would work for painting a Skymaster as an ASR Plane?Dan

Maverick

Dan,

If you're going for an overall colour, I'd head towards International Orange for a US machine, I think yellow is more a colour used by modern European SAR forces.

Mav,I'm kinda going for a 'GA' look for the Skymaster. Besides, Chrome Yellow was the Color used for the Flying Sub. Dan
