I'm going to put it on a base with ocean around and a couple other small vessels yet to be built.

I'll take better closeups once it's done, but you get the idea.
The original model is a resin 1/700 Atlantic Jamaican from Loose Cannon.
To make it part of the Patchwork World, I added a couple machine guns for defense, painted it in Nieuw Amsterdam colours, colour-coded the containers (green for N.A., orange for the mother city of Amsterdam, and some others), and then added some vehicles to fill out the deck. The idea is that the ship carries not only containers but anything else that can be carried on the deck. And the space forward can be used to land small helicopters to supply near-shore places without having to stop the ship.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

That is a spiffy looking ship!  Loose cannon eh?  How was the build?

The model was under $20US, and easy to build. The longest part of the build was cleaning up and painting the containers. I didn't mark or detail them, just painted in various colours to represent the various Dutch cities, plus a few in Neutral Gray. I'll post the story behind the ship and the containers someday.

Was wondering why the space at the front, then read the explanation
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I suppose with a a bit of modification you could use one of those as a vehicle carrier with its drive through superstructure and rear loading ramp. How big is this kit BTW as it looks about LST in size ?

It's about 6 inches long in 1/700. And yes, I've placed some vehicles on the deck to show that idea. The big flat deck is meant to be more than just a container area; it's multi-function, and can carry vehicles, small boats, and other small, self-contained freight. Also, it carries a light armoured vehicle that rolls off onto the dock to provide protection in less secure ports.
