Calling upon the vast technological resources that Canada fielded in the 1950s, AVRO Canada, CARDE (Canadian Aeronautical Research and Development umm..something) and Orenda Engines designed the first orbital interceptor, the CSF-208 Cosmos. Capable of being fired into orbit with as little as 10 minutes warning, they were instrumental in shooting down  all but two missiles fired in the Cuban Missile War of 1962. Placed under UN control after that, the RCSF was to remain the sole user until the 1970s, when the UK and France were brought into the program.

1/72 scale model built using an Estes "RetroRocket" flying model, with the cockpit scratchbuilt and decals from my inky jetty thingie.

I sold it! Amazing!
