Yes take a 1/144 Arii model (a very nice model indeed) and scalorame (does this verb exist? :banghead:) it to 1/72.

Pics soon.

.... and breed a race of pygmy pilots to crew it, no doubt?  -_- ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

It is becoming like one of those Northrop projects (marvelous IMO) between F-5 and YF-17. Can I call it F-115 or perhaps F-511?

Here you can see the plugin in cockpit area ...
Otherwise white area shows F-111 origin

Second one matches the rake of the main wings better but I think I would say stick with as much f111 as possible.

Well the whole thing looks very Northrop, so I'd go for the F-5 tail.

DAMN sexy-looking bird there Ysi.

I was considering a scaleorama for this GB, but I decided to hold off until I saw yours. Now I see that they are completely different concepts, I'll go ahead.

I vote for the second tail as well.  From a scale-o-rama perspective, the second tail looks right.  The F-111 tail looks too small in detail IMHO.

Spey_Phantom

kinda looks like a single seat version of the M-346/yak130 trainer jet.
what markings are you thinking of applying

Another fan for the F-5 tail!  Looks very much the light fighter.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Instead I prefer the F-111 tail : in this way, holding the F-111's tail, is possible to maintain a line of connection between the old F-111 and the new model.

PS: good project! Also the work done until now  is great.

Me prefer F-111's tail. However F-5's tail give another looks to the plane, but I find it too high when it's on the plane... Just a question of aesthetics  ;D
