This issue began in a more generic thread in Ideas Bank.
But, as I think that one day I will make something in these lines, I decided to begin again here.

BTW: Last config allows more than 30 degrees elevation for Y turret, when firig broadside (perpendicular to ship line), according to my preliminary measurements. This config will need some reinforcement in flight deck undersurfaces to resist gun blast (nothing impossible IMO).

Try White Ensign Models for RN equipment and aircraft.

#3 won't work; it's not just the supports, the deck above would be damaged with every shot; Nelson and Rodney suffered damage when their third turret fired much aft of abeam. But I wouldn't put it past the RN to try it! 

I plan to build the piece-parts I have from a couple Hoods, one Tamiya and one Italeri, into a full carrier conversion.
I'd like to see your interpretation, too!

IMHO the problem with bast damage is just an engineering issue. We are here for that!
In Nelson's case, guns should be blamed, they were especially harmful.

After reading that USS Gambler Bay carried 9 fighters, 9 bombers and 9 torpedo bombers, I changed my mind. Mentioned escort carrier had a shorter flight deck and a bigger hangar. So, what about 7 fighters, 7 bombers, 7 torpedo bombers and 3 recce? Total 24 aircraft.
